(AZCentral) – Residents near Luke Air Force Base in Glendale might hear more noise than usual this weekend because of a military training exercises with the Republic of Singapore armed forces.

The exercise, Forging Sabre, will be Saturday and Sunday as well as Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 at Luke and the Barry M. Goldwater Range, the training range in the Sonoran Desert.

Luke’s 425th Fighter Squadron and the 428th Fighter Squadron from Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho will help train the Singapore forces.

Different types of aircraft, including an F-16 Fighting Falcons, F-15E Strike Eagles, CH-47 Chinooks and AH-64 Apache helicopters will participate in the exercises. There will also be an increased military presence near Highway 85 south of Gila Bend.

The last aircraft is expected to land at approximately 9 p.m. Dec. 15.
